Speedy Smog Check is your official State of California Licensed Smog Test Only Center and we are licensed by the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to inspect and certify most vehicles. Our goal is to keep all our customers satisfied by making the process Realizable, with Quality and Speedy Service. Most vehicles registered in California are required to pass a smog check every two years. Your annual Registration Renewal Notice lets you know when you need to get a smog check.

If your Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice says, "SMOG Certification Required," or "SMOG Certification Required at a Test Only Center." AAA Speedy Smog Test Only Station is the place you need to go. We provide official SMOG CHECK for all vehicles including trucks, SUVs and Gross Polluters using our cutting edge BAR-97 Emission Inspection System (EIS) required by the State of California.

The inspection includes a visual, functional and tail-pipe emissions test. Certain vehicles emissions testing require the use of a dynometer for Acceleration Simulation Mode (ASM), or loaded-mode test. The ASM simulates actual driving conditions and allows for more precise testing for CO, HC and NOx - the three most harmful pollutants emitted by motor vehicles.

Smog Check Customers should be aware of the following:

Your vehicle needs a Smog Check if it is more than six model years old and the model year is 1976 or newer..

As of December 15, 2007 the State of California is now requiring a low pressure test (LPFET) of your vehicle's fuel evaporative control system (EVAP) for cars 1995 and older..

Vehicles that are four or more model-years old are required for smog check inspection requirement upon change of ownership and transfer of title transactions with the Department of Motor Vehicles..

The Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) provides financial assistance to repair or retire a vehicle that fails a Smog Check. You may quality for up to $500 in repair assistance once you pay the first $100 in repair cost. The state may also buy your car for $1,000 if you feel your car is not worth repairing. Once the SMOG CHECK is completed we will provide you a Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) which is also transmitted to the DMV for your vehicle records. If your vehicle passes, our system will automatically transmit your Smog Certificate to the DMV electronically - which saves you time.
